Cali Lewis on GeekBeat Episode 1007

I posted a picture of me with my new Scottevest Suzie Qzip shirt (which I love). When people saw the photos, they all wanted to know about my desk and the stuff I have on it, so here we go…

Geek Beat Edition Updesk

My desk is a Geek Beat Edition UpDesk. We worked with UpDesk to create an awesome sit-stand desk just for geeks! It features grommet holes in the rear corners to help with managing cables, cup holders in the front corners, and a big Geek Beat sticker for the top! You can also add options of a power grommet and a tray for a UPS backup battery. The price starts at $1099.

UpDesk PopUp

A new product from UpDesk is the PopUp, an adjustable height monitor and keyboard stand that can turn your existing desk into a sit-stand setup easily. It’s available in single or double monitor configurations, for $265 or 295, respectively.

Rebel Desk Treadmill

Because just standing in front of my desk sometimes isn’t enough of a workout for me, I’ve also got the awesome Rebel Desk Treadmill. Walking while working takes a little practice, but you get used to it pretty quickly!

KEF X300A Wireless Speakers

For music at my desk I love the KEF X300A wireless speakers I’ve got beside my computer. They give me great sound with no cable clutter!

Polycom Voicestation 500

For conference calls from my office, I’ve got the Polycom Voicestation 500, which is not just a great stand-alone conference phone, but can also connect to a computer via Bluetooth.

Tylt Vu Charger

I love the simplicity of wireless charging for my phone and the Tylt Vu charger is a great way to get the job done.

Wagan USB Hub

And if you’ve got a bunch of devices that all need to be charged at once, you can use the Wagan USB hub to send juice in up to four different directions to keep both phones and tablets ready to go.

Heil PR-40

When I need a good microphone at my desk, I’ve got the Heil PR-40 ready to go.

Logitech C920 Webcam

If you do much in the way of video calling, you’ll want a good HD webcam. I use the Logitech C920 for all my computer-mounted camera needs.

V-Moda Crossfade Headphones

I’ve been using my V-Moda Crossfade headphones for a long time and I still love them. Highly recommended for your over-the-ear headphone needs!

Artwork

The art on my walls was done by my dad, Tullio Petrucci (in case you haven’t heard me say it, my real name is Luria Petrucci). He was both an artist and a video producer, and having his art on my office wall gives me a great sense of relaxation.

AOC E1759fwu 17-Inch USB Monitor

The AOC E1759fwu is a great monitor to use when traveling, or just for taking back and forth from work to home. The monitor is slim, light weight, and gets all its power and data through the USB 3.0 connection.

BZee’s Lifetime Athletic Shoes from Naturalizer

Okay, these aren’t on my desk – they’re on my feet! But I’ve been meaning to let you guys know how awesome they are for a while now. Naturalizer’s BZees Lifetime shoes are the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever worn. They feel like you’re not wearing shoes! I used these through all the walking at CES and they were great!

CEAbot

The CEAbot (a Double from Double Robotics) isn’t always in my office, but it is the way Editor-in-Chief Dave Peterson and our other remote staffers make their presence known here in the Geek House. They’re awesome for giving a far-flung staff a local presence at the office. We call our Doubles “CEAbots” because they were provided for us by the great folks at the CEA.

The Michael Artisis Show

And before we go, I want to give a shout out to Michael Artsis’ show over at BeTerriffic.com – I was a guest on his show today and we had a great time talking about all sorts of things – check it out!
